PAST Winner

WA Country Health Service - Testimonial

It was an incredibly proud moment to be announced winners of the Innovation Excellence category at last year’s AIM WA Pinnacle Awards and important recognition of the hard work and dedication of the Emergency Telehealth Service (ETS) team and the dedicated country clinicians who utilise this world-leading service every day.

From its humble beginnings in 2012 in eight small sites across the Wheatbelt to its evolution into the Command Centre in 2019 across more than 80 country hospitals and nursing posts, the ETS has overcome immense challenges and continued to innovate and expand.  But the real winners are the people of country WA; the ones who would not be here without the assistance of the ETS, the ones who would have had worse outcomes or would have had to be transferred far from home.

This award was received the night before the first COVID restrictions were implemented across the state and through many challenging times over the past 14 months, we have often reflected on the poignancy of that night.

Importantly, we were recognised alongside other leading industries making this award for excellence all the more special.  And through the win, we were able to be able to offer some support to Lishman Health Foundation – a Western Australian based organisation supporting regional health research.
